Meet Dr. Bloxham

Dr. Bloxham understands from his own experience the impact of chronic pain on quality of life and overall physical and mental health. During his years as a local general dentist, Dr. Bloxham was loved and appreciated by his staff and patients for his honest caring demeanor and his pleasant sense of humor which made patients feel welcome and at ease. In 2015 following multiple neck surgeries, he was forced to retire from general dentistry due to his own chronic pain issues. As a devoted lifelong learner, Dr. Bloxham took this as an opportunity to utilize and expand upon his past education in order to help make a difference for other chronic pain sufferers. He subsequently began specialty post-doctorate education with the University of Southern California in their Masters of Orofacial Pain and Oral Medicine Program.

Dr. Bloxham’s focus is on treating and managing orofacial pain conditions including musculoskeletal pain (TMD/TMJ, myofascial pain), atypical tooth pain, trigeminal nerve disorders, neurovascular and neuropathic pain. In addition, he treats patients with all aspects of chronic refractory primary headache disorders such as migraine, tension-type headache, cluster headache and occipital neuralgia. Dr. Bloxham also treats oral medicine disorders such as Burning Mouth Syndrome and autoimmune disorders that affect the mouth. He is experienced in fabrication of TMJ orthotics, dental sleep appliances for management of obstructive sleep apnea/snoring, Botox injections for migraines & orofacial pain conditions, intra-articular injections, trigger point injections and, nerve blocks.

In addition to over two thousand hours of post-doctorate education, Dr. Bloxham is currently pursuing board certification by the American Board of Orofacial Pain. He has successfully completed part one of the board certification process and has qualified to complete the certification testing process. He is currently a member of the American Academy of Orofacial Pain (AAOP), American Headache Society (AHS), International Association for Study of Pain (IASP), American Dental Association (ADA), Washington State Dental Association, and Benton-Franklin Dental Society.

Dr. Bloxham loves living in the Tri-cities area. He and his wife Marianne are proud to call it home and have been blessed to raise their family here. They enjoy playing on the river in the summer and various outdoor activities throughout the year. Most weekends you will find them at soccer fields around the region as they cheer on their two daughters who still live at home while updating their adult children via continuous texts.

Erin

Treatment Coordinator

Erin has worked as a licensed practical nurse for the last 15 years. During that time, she had the privilege of working within several different specialties which gave her experience and a good understanding of the impact pain can have on a person’s health and quality of life. Erin recently moved to the Western Washington with her husband and daughter. She is excited to be in a position where she can put her skills and compassion to use in a way that truly helps patients and was thrilled to join Dr. Bloxham’s practice and help those who suffer with chronic pain. When Erin is not at the office, she enjoys spending time with her family outdoors or curling up on the couch with a good book and her dog and cat.
